Trainee Information Governance Officer

Job details:

Ahead of the roll out of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) in May 2018, we are looking to expand our team of information governance specialists. This role represents an excellent opportunity to train for a professional career in the public sector.

Role responsibilities

To assist in the completion of assignments on behalf of client organisations through the completion of specific tasks as directed by lead officers within Veritau. These will include the recording of information requests, and the compilation, review and despatch of responses on behalf of client organisations.

To undertake training towards the BCS / ISEB certificates in data protection, freedom of information and information risk management (or equivalent).

Person specification

Basic computing skills (software)
Good oral communication skills and excellent written English skills
Research, analysis and problem solving skills
Awareness of Local Government issues
Accuracy

Skills & experience

You should also be outgoing, enthusiastic and self-motivated, be willing to work with others in a team environment and have good interpersonal skills.
Degree: You should hold a good degree (or be in the final year of your degree course) or have equivalent specialist knowledge.

Salary: Salary £17,722 - £20,661 plus up to 3% performance related pay
