The role will give you the training required to become a Payroll Assistant, plus plenty of experience providing admin support to the business’ Doncaster office ,

Please note that this vacancy is solely to work in our Payroll Dept with our team and not in Accounts.

Role responsibilities

• Attending training to learn the role, allowing you
progress to managing the payroll services for a range
of Smith Craven’s clients
• Learning to use the Sage Payroll system
• Calculating salaried overtime, shift payments and pay
• Managing PAYE payments, Auto enrolment, Statutory
Sick Pay, Statutory Maternity Pay
• Working to strict payment deadlines
• Assisting colleagues with admin duties and learning
about the business from other members of the team

Person specification

• Have strong attention to detail – you’ll be dealing with
people’s pay, so accuracy is key!
• Be quick to learn new processes, systems and
• Be eager to learn and happy to get stuck into a range of tasks
• Be highly organised and able to manage your own time effectively
• Have excellent numerical skills and a logical mind
• Have tonnes of initiative and the drive to succeed
