SPL Components Ltd are looking to recruit a graduate to join their busy and expanding business in a Sales/Business Development role.

This is a full time, permanent position. We offer excellent career prospects and actively look to develop each individual so that they can contribute and grow with the business. As such, a significant amount of training is provided to the successful candidate.

To be considered for this role you must demonstrate a strong academic background. Previous office experience is not essential. You will need to possess excellent IT skills and a keen eye for detail. Most importantly, the successful candidate will be highly determined, enthusiastic and driven to succeed.

Role responsibilities

This role offers a great opportunity for someone who is interested in pursuing a career in Sales and Business Development.

The role includes:
• Working within the sales office and processing orders which arrive via fax/email.
• Speaking confidently with customers on the telephone to take verbal orders/resolve any queries.
• Dealing with customers through the trade door, presenting a professional and approachable persona to the customer.
The role will develop into looking at Business Development, including:
• Establishing relationships with existing customers and managing their accounts. This will involve:
o Being in regular contact with the customer to ensure that the customer is satisfied with the level of service being provided.
o Developing and expanding existing business by discussing customer needs and identifying areas to target for further sales.
• Research target clients to achieve new sales and making first contact to follow these leads up to develop into active sales accounts.
• To initiate regular telephone follow up of customers within your ‘area’ and maintain records of the telephone calls.

Person specification

• Real enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
• Determination to succeed in all tasks undertaken.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Skills & experience

• A good level of IT skills (Microsoft Office etc.)
• A confident telephone manner.
