How would we sum it up?
This is a brilliant starting role for an aspiring graphic designer to join a rapidly growing and ethically driven media marketing company. You will be responsible for the creative design work for businesses, charities and organisations such as the Invictus games, The Ritz (Kyoto) and Sheffield’s very own Tramlines festival. Primarily supporting the marketing team, you will be designing and developing professional brand materials, both for print, presentation and digital outputs. What are all the practical details?
Starting salary: £16,000 - £18,000 (dependant on experience)
Location: Element House, 113 Arundel St, Sheffield S1 2NT
Start date: November/December 2018
Length of role: Six months, with a view to securing a permanent role

Role responsibilities

What would you be doing?
Typical activities might include:
• Designing a range of branded materials working within internal and client brand guidelines
• Producing graphics and other assets for a range of media including; website, presentations, brochures, posters, adverts, e-shots, leaflets and other learning and development materials
• Interpreting high level requirements from a brief and translate into great designs by prototyping concepts and working mock-ups for both colleagues and clients
• Contributing ideas and suggestions for improvement regarding business products and services.
• Keeping abreast of technical developments, using these to evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies and graphic ideas where possible
• Undertaking any other ad-hoc duties as determined by the needs of the business

Person specification

What type of person are they looking for?
The ideal candidate will:
• Be a graduate in any degree discipline, provided that you can provide a portfolio or examples of previous design work. Graphic Design and other design-related degree graduates are particularly welcome!
• Be able to work consistently and to tight deadlines
• Be able to demonstrate flair and a good eye for attractive designs and illustrations
• Have great visual design skills, an awareness of emerging technologies and a good understanding of design principles, such as use of colour, layout and typography
• Be comfortable with most of the Adobe creative suite, but particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and Fireworks
• Have great communication skills, taking a proactive approach to communicating with their line manager, internal colleagues and external clients on a regular basis
• Be prepared to supply a portfolio ahead of an interview, if successful
Degree: Be a graduate in any degree discipline, provided that you can provide a portfolio or examples of previous design work. Graphic Design and other design-related degree graduates are particularly welcome!
